I've worked in the photo industry in one capacity or another since 1987, when I started work at Jackson Camera on Main Street in Columbia, SC. There I managed the photo lab, learning all I could about the post production side of photography.
It was also there that I first picked up a camera with the intent of taking professional pictures. Up to then, I'd been interested in photography but had never thought much about it as a career. I "borrowed" some dancers from Town Theatre to use as my first models and discovered what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Three photo labs and countless photo sessions later, I work as a staff photographer at the University of South Carolina, where I tend to the photographic needs of many different departments, including Athletics, Theatre and Dance, Libraries and the Alumni Association.
I enjoy photography with all its different aspects and challenges. I'm always interested in trying something new (a different location, a different style), but sometimes the classic style can be just a fun. Every subject brings a different voice to the table and makes each shoot unique. I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
